What is mindfulness?

Mindfulness is the basic human ability to be fully present, being aware of where we are, what we’re doing and how we’re feeling, without becoming overly reactive or overwhelmed by what’s going on around us.

With regular practice, mindfulness can help us notice when we are running on “autopilot”, such as getting lost in thought, worrying about the future, or going over things from the past. This can reduce stress and bring us back to the present moment.

About

About Sim, Bristol mindfulness and yoga teacher

Sim is a mindfulness and yoga teacher based in Bristol, offering mindfulness, yoga, mindful movement and retreat experiences to individuals, groups and workplaces.

Her journey into mindfulness began in 2018 while recovering from burnout. After completing her first 8-week mindfulness course and developing a regular practice, Sim experienced life-changing benefits in both her working life and personal life. This sparked a deeper curiosity about the mind-body connection and inspired her to train professionally so she could share these practices with others.
